Honghua builds chlor-alkali production cycle model

On the 11th of January, in the peace and low-carbon recycling industry concentrated development zone in Daan District, Zigong City, Sichuan, the comprehensive utilization of chlor-alkali waste from the subsidiary Zigong Honghe Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. of Yuhua Southwest Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. commenced. The project has played an exemplary role in the effective utilization of by-products of similar chlor-alkali enterprises in China, and is also an important measure for South West China to speed up development, adjust product structure, and extend the product chain.
The total investment of the technological transformation project for the comprehensive utilization of wastes in the chloro-alkali system waste of Honghe Chemical Industry is nearly 356 million yuan. After the completion of the project, the average annual sales income will reach 580 million yuan and the profits and taxes will reach 66 million yuan. Honghua Company is a subsidiary company of Southwest China and is one of the large-scale chlor-alkali production enterprises in China. Due to the large amount of hydrochloric acid and liquefied tail gas produced by the plant, the company's existing natural gas chlorination plant and the existing feed calcium hydrogen phosphate plant used to digest by-product hydrochloric acid have low chlorine utilization and poor economic returns. In order to increase the comprehensive utilization of chlorine resources and reduce environmental pollution, the company plans to build the technical transformation project and develop a recycling economy.
This project utilizes the hydrochloric acid and tail chlorine produced by the existing old plants in a comprehensive manner, adopts an advanced and reliable hydrogen chloride desorption process, and obtains hydrogen chloride, a raw material with excellent quality, so that the limited chlorine resources are used efficiently. After the completion of the project, the existing natural gas thermal chlorination methane chloride production plant will be shut down, which will significantly reduce the company's "three wastes" emissions, contribute to local environmental protection, and achieve comprehensive utilization of resources and optimal allocation.
Honghua Company has many years of chlor-alkali production experience and strong technical force, providing human resources and technical guarantees for the smooth implementation of the project. In addition, the project relies on the existing public works of Zigong Honghe Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., some production facilities and supporting service facilities, which can significantly reduce the capital construction investment of the project.
The problem of comprehensive utilization of by-products encountered by Honghua Company is also a problem that plagues many similar chlor-alkali enterprises in the country. Yin Desheng, chief engineer of China Sunhua Chemical (Group) Corporation, believes that as a comprehensive utilization project of industrial waste, it has played an exemplary role for the effective utilization of by-products by similar companies in the domestic chlor-alkali industry.
At the ceremony, Yang Wanshi, chairman of the board of directors and secretary of the Party Committee of Southwest China, said that the comprehensive utilization of chlor-alkali waste system was a major measure to adjust the product structure of Southwest China, and it was also the only way for Honghua to become bigger and stronger. According to reports, the project is also of great significance to South West China to enlarge and strengthen its salt chemical base and increase its market competitiveness.
